Earthquake in Indian capital New Delhi North India epicentre on Iran Pak border


4.30 pm: Massive earthquake hits Iran, tremors felt in Delhi, North India

A massive earthquake believed to have occurred on the Iran-Pakistan border has caused tremors in Delhi, the National Capital Region and other states in North India.


As per the US Geological Survey, the quake measuring 7.8 on the Richter Scale had its epicentre on the Iran-Pakistan border at a depth of 15.2 kilometres. It was located 86 kilometres east-southeast of Khash, Iran.

The quake was widely felt in North India, including Delhi-NCR, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Kutch etc.
