5 Budget Friendly Camps in Masai Mara

The Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya is a well known game reserve within the tourist circles. Its famously known for the Great Wildebeest migration that occurs within the park where over 1 million wildebeests migrate from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania into Kenya’s Masai Mara game reserve, followed along by thousands of Thompson’s Gazelles and zebras looking for greener pastures. The Great wildebeest migration was voted as one of the new 7 wonders of the world.

The Masai Mara offers a wide range of accommodation venues that allow tourists to enjoy nature at whatever time of day or night. They include luxurious suites and tented camps that ape the manyattas- the cultural homes of the Masai community which lives in this region.

The choice of accommodation relies on the tourist’s budget. Even though some camps are cheaper than others, they do not compromise on essential amenities that are ideal for comfort during the vacation. For example, do not worry about using the long drop toilets because budget camps have flush toilets. Staying in a budget camp saves some money for other activities like buying souvenirs from the local traders.

Below are some of the budget friendly camps that are found within Masai Mara for those planning to go on a Masai Mara safari. The camps in this bracket offer rates between $10 and $199.  They are located on different parts of the reserve. They include:-
